This is a restored Vendo 63 can-serving machine. It has been restored to be a Mountain Dew style machine which was never produced by the Pepsi Cola company. It is a unique design and is the first of its kind.
The design on the illuminated signface and the two round emblems on the sides are decal replicas of old advertising for Mountain Dew. The original tin signs date back to the early 1960s. Other than changing the flavor to Mountain Dew, the decal decoration scheme is the same as other original Vendo 63s.
This Mountain Dew machine has gone through our restoration process. It has been fully cleaned and repaired to be in proper working order once again. This machine has a new refrigeration unit, as well as new fan motors, compressor, and wiring. It has a rebuilt coin changer and a properly lubricated stack to ensure flawless vending. Additionally, the machine has new light bulbs and ballasts for the light in the vending door and the flourescent bulb behind the signface.
Before it was repainted, all of the dents and blemishes were removed from the body of the machine. After that the exterior was repainted with a high-quality base-coat, clear-coat paint job. The interior has been similarly treated and has been repainted with silver hammerite to prevent any rusting and to create a unique metallic texture. The serving door was also worked upon and received new plexiglass for its window.
